Girls….how SMART are we?

When Hope Is Not Enough

“In times of hardship, leaders must inspire hope. To his credit, President Obama inspires great hope. But without planning, reason, and a sense of what works, inspired hope can be a cruel hoax.

History and economics demonstrate that the path to prosperity is hard work, sound investment, lower taxes, and less debt. Whether in a family, business, or government, debt imprisons. In the short term, debt can elevate the standard of living. But, if income grows slower than debt, debt ultimately destroys that standard of living.

My fear is that the trillions in debt the President is creating will swallow economic growth and destroy that standard of living. Our economic future will be pawned, our future in debtor’s prison.

The President is ambitious. But I ask that his ambition not deafen him to the lessons of history and economics.”

While I certainly appreciate what Congressman Cassidy has said in the statement above, frankly I find it sadly wanting in the necessary “cajones” department! This is a meek and watered-down statement at best. Not the blistering indictment that we need to see coming from someone in the Republican Party in Washington.

Let’s not forget that Congressman Cassidy and 84 of his fellow party members voted in favor of the onerous HR 1586, which was tax cheat Charlie Rangel’s butt-covering, after-the-fact 90% AIG bonus tax! A completely UNCONSTITUTIONAL vote, which had it not been shelved by the Senate for now, would have given big government yet one more opportunity to socialize our economy! And even more heinous in my opinion is that Cassidy voted for H.R.1388,  The GIVE Act!! This should scare the daylights out of us!!

I have had ENOUGH!! I’m tired of seeing such limp-wristed statements squeaked out by the timid lemmings on the Hill, who have forgotten that they represent “the people” and not their own self interests!

Here we are on Smart Girl Politics and there is a statement from one of the RINOS right on the front page! How smart are we when we aren’t checking on these people and their votes?! Listen, we have all got to get way more serious about this, or everything we hold dear as a free nation is going to be gone!

We shouldn’t have Congressman Cassidy’s comment on the front page, we should be taking him to task for his treasonous voting record! Did HE read the GIVE Act? Does he understand the ramifications it will have in our society?! It is nothing less than a form of State sponsored slavery! Personally I’m ready for a tar and featherin’!

If our Legislators don’t start acting like they represent us, we all might as well put the tea bags away and start practicing the ‘lock step march’. We have got to pay close attention to what’s being voted on and how they vote. We need to hold them accountable for capitulating and rolling over like the President’s lap dogs! And we have to make it clear that we are going to Clean out the House in 2010!
