The energy tax bill is a crime against the American people.  As our unemployment rate rapidly approaches 10%, such a pernicious financial burden is completely unethical.  For the life of me, I can’t understand why politicians like Waxman the Human Gopher are pursuing such a measure in a time which they constantly characterize as “the worse economic state since the Great Depression.”  It makes absolutely no sense.  It is stunningly obtuse that in an economic crisis which they use to force through unprecedented legislation that they would, at the same time, not see fit to help the American people by forgoing this ridiculous albatross championed by the special interests.  A word of advice:  Get liberals out of office, or they will continue to destroy the country as they have for decades.

Smart Girls should celebrate the courageous women in Iran, who are acting out on a level that was in many ways, unanticipated.  They’re a huge force in the protests, rallying sentiment and dying along side men.  My heart goes out to them.

Another one bites the dust.  The Governor Stanford infidelity scandal is deeply disappointing.  I am absolutely disgusted with politicians, almost exclusively male, who degrade their marriages, wives and families with such behavior.  I personally refuse to support a philanderer.  I’m sure he will gain forgiveness on some level, and that’s fine, but I think it’s also important to be tough with politicians who commit such acts to send a clear message that it is under no circumstances tolerable.  I also give a lot of support to his wife who kicked him out.  It’s the right thing to do for the sake of her own self respect, and I don’t think she’s obligated to try to reconcile.  All the best if she wants to; its admirable in some sense, but my future husband be warned:  If I’m cheated on, I will take half your assets and leave.
