Health Care for America NOW: get to know them

If you need another reason to run from nationalized health care…here it is. Health Care for America NOW is a nonprofit made up of over 1,000 of the most leftwing groups in existence including real winners like ACORN, MoveOn.org and SEIU. These groups and others just like them have raised $82 million to further force their agenda through Congress. They call their tactics “Congress-centric.”
Their website is upbeat, completely loaded with ways for citizens to get involved (including buying nifty t-shirts) and casts a very negative light on insurance companies. As usual, the left needs someone to blame (that’s really all they do if you think about it) and for this cause, they’ve chosen big insurance as the scary, evil villain standing between the innocent masses and good health care.
Health Care for America NOW believes “Our government’s responsibility is to guarantee quality affordable health care for everyone in America and it must play a central role in regulating, financing, and providing health coverage….” (www.healthcareforamericanow.org) The Constitution doesn’t say squat about our government’s responsibility to ‘guarantee quality, affordable health care’ but HCAN lays the job at the government’s feet anyway (that’s where liberals like everything to be).
Normal, everyday people (not crazy, rightwing nut jobs like you and me) can easily be sucked in by HCAN’s friendly language and noble-sounding ideals and principles. What they say sounds good but as we all know no one can pay for it and nationalized health care does not work anywhere else in the world.
Go to their website and poke around to familiarize yourself with their strategy and talking points. You’re bound to hear their rhetoric spewing from people you know or the always-reliable mainstream media. If you know what they’re saying and planning, you can counteract with confidence.
