This is Feminism?!

boxEarlier this week, Playboy.com published an article called “So Wrong It’s Right.” In it, misogynist Guy Cimbalo compiles a list of conservative women he’d like to “hate-f***.” Let’s be clear about something from the get-go: “hate-f***” means rape, pure and simple. Trying to justify it as something else is ignorant. In short, Mr. Cimbalo advocates the rape, degradation and humiliation of a group of women because of their political ideology – solely because their beliefs are different from his own. The author is shallow at best, sadistic at worst.

[Playboy was apparently so proud of Mr. Cimbalo’s work that they actually had the gall to send out a press release about it. To conservative bloggers! ]

Predictably, conservatives were outraged and liberals had a good laugh. Playboy quickly scrubbed the piece from their site for reasons unknown.  But Cimbalo’s hate-filled screed was already out there for the world to see and judge, in the form of screen shots and cached copies.  The article became a hot topic of debate and discussion on right- and left-leaning blogs, which I saw as a good thing.

Knowing that Bonnie Erbe, a blogger at USNews, was a passionate defender of liberal women (such as Nancy Pelosi), I wrote to her in the hope that she would use her pulpit to rally to the defense of her right-leaning sisters. Instead of refuting the noxious ruminations of Cimbalo, Ms. Erbe piled on with more of her own.

hypocrite

Sure, she decided that some conservative women are worthy of being defended from the hatred, but the more opinionated of us (as symbolized by Michelle Malkin) are apparently not.  What I infer from Ms. Erbe’s writings is that the more we conservative ladies challenge the status quo and question stale stereotypes, the less she will defend our right to do so. This is feminism?!

It is ironic that Ms. Erbe closes her article by stating that Playboy “is past its time and should just fold up and go away.” Funny, that is exactly how I feel about Ms. Erbe and her antiquated notion of feminism.

I am wondering if Ms Erbe’s diatribe actually comes as a surprise to any conservative woman? I honestly can’t think of any recent example of a “feminist” being supportive of the “right” side of an issue vs the political side of an issue. We saw how the “feminists” behaved during Clinton’s administration, so are we really surprised by a lack of support? Yes, that makes them hypocrites but did we really think they were anything but?

Ladies and Gentlemen: We have NOT “come along way, baby.” The current wave of feminism subscribes to out and out hatred of anything and anybody to the center of leftist radical thought. There is no respect for diversity of opinion. What thrives is a conscious resistance to conservative thought. For example, many women consider themselves feminist because they think it means that they can stand on their own two feet, can think for themselves, can choose between full-time motherhood or a full-time career, can make a choice to marry or not marry, have children or not have children. Well, things have changed. Seems a conservative woman, will be threatened, attacked, and bullied because it turns out current ‘feminists’ think just like the privileged white males they allegedly despise. It is no longer about gender equality. It is about silencing voices who differ from their own. They will objectify the woman, negating her intellect, and cut her down to looks, body parts, and negative stereotypes. And if the woman happens to be feminine on top of conservative? Watch out. The current wavers hate feminine women. Notice how Katie Couric has suddenly morphed into an androgynous, glasses-wearing, short-haired middle aged woman who tries hard to not be attractive. I find it puzzling, though, that she would copycat Governor Palin’s glasses. Perhaps underneath her hateful, vindictive, jealous demeanor, Couric thinks the Governor is pretty smart behind those glasses. Our universities are overwhelmingly filled with leftist radical professors working overtime to indoctrinate our youth. They will attempt to hijack the minds of their students, inciting a sense of guilt for being anything other than liberal. They will tell them they are racists who are complicit in wrongdoing and until they admit what they have done (really……they were alive during the 1700s?) then they are greedy capitalist racists who owe their victims. Then, they are convinced that if they want to be anything near traditional, then they cannot call themselves feminists.
