Another reason to be a Tea Party Patriot

Is it just me or do we have taxation without representation again in America? Eight Republicans who were voted into office because they supposedly share Republican beliefs and values, sold out to The Chosen One and Pelosi on the Cap and Trade bill. They didn’t listen to their constituents. They didn’t remember why they were sent to Washington in the first place. They made some backdoor deal (don’t kid yourself into believing they actually support Cap and Trade or think it’s good for the country). They’re getting something out of this vote. We just have to wait a bit and we’ll see what their price was. Maybe they think we’ll forget this by the time election season comes around. I think in the past that was a good bet to place but not anymore.
Here is a list of the eight traitors. Find them when they come home and remind them that they better enjoy the next year because they’re not going back to Washington after this little act of treason against We The People.
Cap and Trade is not a done deal. Don’t stop contacting your senators. Sure, the Democrats now have a filibuster-proof majority but once in a while a Dem comes to his/her senses and votes the right way. Forty four of them voted against Cap and Trade in the House. There’s hope for the Senate. For instance, they might actually read the bill before they vote on it. It’s a radical thought, I know, but it’s possible.
This whole “clean energy” bill (which even Greenpeace said was bogus) is just the latest in a long list of reasons you should attend a tea party on Independence Day. I’m starting my day at one. It’s just a few hours out of my life and then I’m back to the backyard with a hamburger in one hand and a root beer float in the other. However, those few hours are making a difference. And I’m taking my toddler with me. She’s going to grow up knowing where her parents stand, what we believe, what we’re willing to face in the name of liberty.
Find out where a tea party is happening close to you. Put on something red, white and blue (toss in a little splash of green for our independence-loving friends in Iran) and go out the door. Every time we stand up to these bullies we puncture their facade. We pull off their masks. We expose them for the greedy, selfish, irresponsible, power-grabbing hypocrites they are. It feels glorious to stand with like-minded Americans. It makes sense to come together to talk, to listen, to pray. This is what freedom is about, people. Put your frustration about the House’s ridiculous Cap and Trade bill to good use—add your voice to the loud throng growing nationwide. We The People are still here.
