There is no denying Bridget Geegan Blanton is a patriot. Whether she is registering people to vote, volunteering for a campaign, or traversing the country speaking on grassroots activism, Bridget considers every day an opportunity to protect and defend liberty. If you take the time to get to know her, you’ll find that she is quite passionate about her principles and proud of her conservative roots.

Her foundation in politics began as a child around the dinner table; positions could not be simply stated but had to be supported with facts. Bridget’s father instilled in her at a very young age that it was not only her obligation to her country to be an informed voter, but it was her voice. Taking an early interest in politics, she read every single U.S. Presidential biography in her local library and felt “being President of the United States was even more awesome than winning a Gold Medal at the Olympics”.

As she matured, Bridget’s passion for politics surged; she set up a table in her high school cafeteria for lunchtime voter registration and shared with her classmates the importance of their voice – their vote. And on her 18th birthday, Bridget’s father took her to get registered to vote. This single event, she claims, was life-changing and remains as vivid now as it was that day.

One of the most endearing qualities about Bridget Geegan Blanton is her unapologetic energy. Today, she not only serves as Smart Girl Politics’ California State Coordinator, but she also holds the office of Vice Chairman of Precinct Operations for the Riverside County Republican Party, contributes to Smart Girl Nation and National Writers Syndicate, as well as maintaining her own website www.desertrosebooks.com. Perhaps the biggest way SGP members outside of California and the Southwest Region know Bridget is through her efforts in national voter registration training. In fact, she seeks to have a registration table set up at every Tax Day Tea Party across this country.

Just how big of a project is that? 50 states, 1 day, millions of participants, and teaching volunteers how to effectively (& legally) register someone to use their voice and vote. But, if there’s one woman for the job, it’s Bridget.

“[She] is one of the most dedicated, hard-working women in the conservative movement that you will ever find. When Bridget gets involved in a project, you know without a doubt that the project just took on a whole new level,” says Stacy Mott, founder of Smart Girl Politics.

It’s evident that Bridget does not do all that she does for recognition, accolades, or self-promotion. She acts out of true love for America, what it stands for, and the liberties offered to its citizens. “Part of our responsibility,” Bridget claims, “requires that we educate our fellow Americans on the fact that protecting liberty is a duty. We owe it to those who came before us who willingly sacrificed life and treasure to pass us the torch of liberty.”

Her greatest hope for the United States rests in the American people. Throughout her involvement in the Tea Party Movement she has met countless people who care just as much about the future of this nation as she does. Despite attacks from the left, Bridget takes notice of how her comrades remain “Happy Warriors” and aim to keep their demonstrations lawful, free of litter, and founded in principle.

Someone with this much passion, energy, organization, and experience is someone to be learned from. To people unsure of joining the fight for freedom she asks, “If not now, then when?”. To those new to the conservative movement, Bridget recommends getting involved and getting educated on how best to implement your passion. She constantly reminds us that America is a beacon of freedom to the world and those liberties we often take for granted come at a cost – it’s our duty to preserve the Founders’ intentions.

Naturally, Bridget seeks to guard each individual voice. “The battle we face will be fought at the ballot box. In order to overcome the voter fraud from the left, we must be out there registering like-minded Americans. Voter registration is an effective tool of grassroots activism where potential voters can be educated on the truth, as well as our conservative principles – the same principles that were the foundation upon which Americans built this great nation.”

For more information about Smart Girl Politics’ voter registration efforts, please visit the National Voter Registration Drive Group. Click here to visit Bridget Geegan Blanton’s SGP page. You can also find Bridget on Twitter: @chicago2cali.
